About Piedmont Dragway
Racing at any level of competition is a tough and demanding business. It takes hard work and perseverance, not only for a racing team, but for a racetrack to survive in the sport. When it comes to stability and longevity in weekly drag racing, Piedmont Dragway stands right at the top as one of the sport's best operated facilities.
This year Piedmont, a spanking clean 1/8 mile all-concrete IHRA dragway, celebrates its 50th year of continuous operation. Located in central North Carolina between Greensboro and Burlington, Piedmont Dragway has been providing the drag racing fan and driver with a stable operation for over four decades.
The track was originally built in 1957 by Bobby Starr.
