Does the track at Piedmont hook?

      I get asked this question whentalking to new racers that haven't been to Piedmont Dragway.  I think this picture says it all:

     Do I need to say anything else?  Lynch is getting ready for our WheelStand contest on the Third Thursday in April.  It will pay 1000.00 to the winner and 500.00 bonus if they carry the wheels past the 330'.  Owen Teague, who ran after Lynch was putting the wheels up himself:

There is a problem when you have a track that hooks.  Your rearend and driveshaft don't like it.  Example:

     This was the 2nd driveshaft to go Sunday at Piedmont.  All in all it was a good day.  We had the UNC game playing on the PA system.  There was a good crowd on hand.  A pair of bigdog cars testing.  We had our normal group of bike riders getting races off throughout the day. 

      It was a pretty easy going sunday.  Nothing crazy to report.  Just remember this Thursday is the debut of 6.49 and Dirty Thursday.  Whoever had the dirtiest car on the grounds will win a years worth of free car washes from Wheel's and Bumpers in Burlington, NC.  This Saturday is the big Import show from Drop Jaw.  Can't wait to see you guys there!
